After discharge from hospitals, individuals experiencing homelessness often still need medical support and stability for their healing journey. National Health Foundation’s recuperative care centers provide quality care to our neighbors experiencing homelessness, recognizing everyone is worthy of a dignified experience that centers their voice in their path to health and home. We’re proud to partner with some of the largest health plans in Los Angeles and Ventura counties: L.A. Care Health Plan, Blue Shield Promise, Anthem Blue Cross, Kaiser Permanente, Gold Coast Health Plan and Health Net.
Full-time nursing staff
We offer 24/7 bilingual nurse coverage providing trauma-informed, compassionate care. From exercise classes to communal activities, we aim to boost our guest’s physical and mental wellness.
Full-time intake staff
We take referrals and intakes 24/7 through our number 888-NHF-BEDS and have full time intake staff working Monday-Saturday for all of your questions.

Full-time social services team
Our outstanding social service team goes above and beyond to connect guests with benefits and help them find permanent housing. Each guest is assigned a dedicated case manager.
Onsite medical clinic
Guests can access non-emergency, routine, or preventative care at our onsite medical clinic.
We offer free dental care onsite for our guests.
Mental health specialists
Our mental health specialists provide guests with individualized care and treatment options to break the cycle of homelessness.
Substance use disorder specialists
Substance use disorder specialists work directly with guests to develop a plan for recovery in a harm-reduction environment.
Our dedicated housing placement team has an exceptional track record helping guests find permanent housing. Each year, our team transitions 59% of our guests to stable housing or reunites them with family.
Harm reduction, low-barrier facility
We treat those who use drugs with dignity and respect, meeting them where they are and reinforcing positive change by reducing the stigma associated with recreational or problematic drug use.
Pharmacy prescription delivery
Guest medications and prescriptions conveniently delivered straight to our facility.
We will help you arrange transportation to appointments.
Regular AA meetings
Every AA meeting is hosted right at our Pico site for both the guests and the outside community.
Public benefits assistance
Our knowledgeable social work team will get guests signed up for any benefits that the guest might be eligible for.
Our nursing team uses a tiered program and database tracking to assist and educate patients at making sure they take their medication on schedule and as prescribed.
24 hour staffing
Our facility is staffed 24 hours a day/7 days a week so that patients can always be helped with anything they may need.
Discharge summaries provided for every guest
A detailed report of all the services provided for the guest is sent to you after every discharge.
Monthly utilization reports
A report of your use of utilization of recuperative care services and money saved is sent to you on a monthly basis.
Our facility is ADA friendly inside and out. Entrances, rooms, hallways are large, accessible and easy to navigate.
Guests can help maintain and access fresh fruits and vegetables from our community garden.
