Dr. Yan Dominic Searcy
National Health Foundation (NHF) announced, mid-September, the appointment of a new member to the Board of Directors, Dean Yan Dominic Searcy, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at CSUN. Dean Searcy served as the Associate Dean in the School of Health and Human Services at Southern Connecticut State University for four years. He also served as the Interim Associate Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Chicago State University where he was a faculty member for 20 years in the Departments of Social Work and Sociology and was president of the faculty senate for seven years.
Dr, Searcy earned a Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his PH.D. from the University of Chicago. His beliefs and commitment to upholding the values of diversity, racial, and social justice coincide perfectly with NHF’s vision of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion values (J.E.D.I).
He was selected from a very robust and highly diverse applicant pool and was selected following a multi-dimensional, highly scrutinous process. We are so very proud of our selection process; we are indebted to our nominating panel for their efforts in this process.
