Mia Arias is Chief Operating Officer at National Health Foundation where she oversees the internal functions of the organization as part of the executive team.
Mia has over 15 years of experience working with non-profit organizations. At National Health Foundation Mia served as Senior Program Coordinator for three years and Director of Programs for six years. During this time Mia helped secure funding for and implemented several large-scale initiatives including a patient safety collaborative that included over 160 hospitals across the state of California and resulted in 6,000 lives saved and $114 million dollars in medical costs avoided. She also developed youth participatory action research programs which have empowered over a thousand youth to-date.
Before National Health Foundation, Mia served as the Simms/Mann Health and Wellness Project Coordinator at Venice Family Clinic where she implemented an innovative chronic pain clinic that provided free acupuncture and chiropractic care. She also worked in development at The Children’s Clinic, a federally qualified health center in Long Beach, CA.
Mia received her Master Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in nonprofit management from the University of Southern California and received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is a graduate of the CORO Health Leadership Program and is a past board member of Girls on the Run of Los Angeles County.
