SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH

According to the World Health Organization, The social determinants of health (SDOH) are the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and the wider set of forces and systems shaping the conditions of daily life. These forces and systems include economic policies and systems, development agendas, social norms, social policies and political systems.

We believe that by tackling the social determinants of health, or the root causes of ill health, that we can create a lasting impact on the health of our communities. We also believe that the way to arrive at lasting healthy changes is to work with the communities directly and to empower the residents to envision and implement those changes from within.

There is much work to be done. Won't you join us?
